The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom's work in Brazil is the product of a project that goes back more than 40 years. During the 1970s and 1980s, the focus of our activities was in the field of cooperatives. In the 1990s, however, there was a growing emphasis on our political work with liberal training institutes and the Liberal party "Partido da Frente Liberal" (PFL), now known as the "Democratas". Since 1992, the Foundation has had a project office in Brazil's economic and financial capital São Paulo.
Today, the Foundation's work is still centred on cooperation with Brazilian liberals, both within and outside of the political parties. The primary target groups are current and future leaders. The Foundation provides training and consultancy services covering everything from seminars on the fundamental principles of liberalism or modern local government policymaking to the transfer of basic political skills such strategic planning, media management and communication in the digital age.Read more
